Tony Foulds Gets His Flyby! #TonyGotAFlyPast

The story of Tony Foulds has gripped the nation since it was revealed that he has been tending to a WWII memorial since for the past 75 years.

BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker decided to take up Tony’s plight after a chance meeting in their local park.

Tony Foulds was only 8 years old back in 1944 when a US B17 bomber swerved to avoid crash landing into Tony and his friends in his local Endcliffe Park in Sheffield. All 10 were killed upon crash landing in the nearby woods. Tony has felt responsible for this ever since that fateful day back in 1944.

Dan Walker and BBC Breakfast have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver on his promise to do ‘something’ to remember that sad day with social media campaigns #TurnUpForTony and #GetTonyAFlypast .

With the help of all at 48 Fighter Wing at RAF LAkenshaw and the US Ambassador to the UK, Woody Johnson the flyby is on for the 22nd February, weather permitting. #TonyGotAFlypast

Tony is so taken with the efforts and responses from around the world he has offered a personal invite to US President Donald Trump to come over and stay at his to enjoy the ‘flyby’ experience in February. He has even gone as far as to offer him some ‘bread and dripping’ if he stays!

He has also admitted being ok with Brad Pitt playing him if Hollywood wants to make a film about his story!!
