Halloween Hit Parade

Come the witching hour, when you’re all alone, there’s only one thing that will save you. The Spring Chicken Halloween Playlist!

Halloween has increased in popularity through the years, perhaps as a result of commercialisation, perhaps as a result of the US influence over British culture.

However, looking back the British have and always had a predilection with horror and the occult. From Hammer horror films like The Witch Finder General and The Wicker Man to classic gothic horror like Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein and Dennis Wheatley’s The Devil Rides Out.

Alfred Hitchcock once said;

‘ It all starts with a baby at the age of six months, when the Mother says ‘Boo!’ and scares the hell out of the baby, gives the baby the hiccups and then the baby giggles, there it is, the first moment of fear ……… we all enjoy putting our toe in the cold water of fear.’

So take a moment, turn the lights down low, get your self a stiff drink and get ready to dip your toe into the cold water of fear…..
