10 Things You Need on Your 2019 Bucket List

Have you ticked off any of these already?

Anything is possible – and what better time to embed that motto than entering a brand-new year.

We have come up with 10 staples to add to your 2019 bucket list. Better yet, they’re not overly elaborate or out-of-reach, so you will be able to tick off most (or all if you’re keen) by the end of the year. Nothing beats an accomplished bucket list.

  1. Start learning a new language

Learning languages keeps the brain active and healthy. In fact, several studies have shown that learning languages can stave off dementia.

Duolingo is a fantastic app that makes learning a new language fun. You can download it on your smartphone or use it on your web browser: https://www.duolingo.com/

  1. Volunteer – do some charity work

Not only is volunteering rewarding, it also gives you the opportunity to impact others’ lives and make a difference for your community. You can find opportunities near you here: https://do-it.org/

  1. Dine in a Michelin restaurant

Taste some of the best foods and beverages out there. Treat yourself.

  1. Join a Book Club

  1. Host a party/dinner party with old friends

Nowadays it’s easy to lose touch with those who mean a lot to you. Why not host an evening of your own to reunite some familiar faces?

  1. Take a trip

Think of a place you’ve always wanted to visit, but haven’t had the chance to, and book your tickets!

Choose a relaxing destination by the sea, or a thrilling adventure getaway. You can read our travel tips/offers here: https://springchicken.co.uk/travel/

  1. Name a star

Name a star after yourself or a loved one.  The star will be forever recognised by the Universal Star Registry as the new registered star name.

There are plenty of websites that allow you to name a star, including: https://star-name-registry.com/

  1. Play a new musical instrument

Have you always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, piano or violin? It’s never too late to give it a try!

Here’s a helpful resource to get you started: http://www.bbc.co.uk/learning/subjects/music.shtml

  1. Sing to an audience

Even if you don’t sound quite like Tom Jones, singing to an audience (be it karaoke, a talent show or in the living room one evening) is exhilarating.

Sweet Caroline, My Way, Dancing Queen… There’s just so many hits to choose from!

  1. Drive your dream car

Ever wanted to drive a Porsche, Lamborghini, or Aston Martin but never had the chance? There are plenty of ‘driving experience’ opportunities to allow you to drive your dream car, including Drivers Dream Days: https://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/drivers-supercar-experiences
