Springchicken's Optical Illusion Challenge #1 Elvis Presley

It's a tricky one, as the more you look at the image the more difficult it becomes. You almost have to look at the optical illusion out of the corner of your eye. As with all good optical illusions, once you see them, you can't unsee them.

If you have managed to spot who it is in less than 30 minutes then give yourself a big pat on the back. Our team took nearly an hour and had to keep coming back to check.

Optical Illusion Challenge #1 Answer

There is only one answer to this challenge, just like there is only one King of Rock'n'Roll, Elvis Presley.

The hipshaking sensation that took the world by storm in the 1950s is hidden behind the optical distortion.

Did You Know?

There has been much written about the King of Rock'n'Roll since he walked into  the Sun Studios back in August 1953. Here's some of the lesser known facts that we found intriguing.

  • Elvis had a twin brother who died at birth, Jesse Garon Presely. What a duo they might have been!
  • Elvis is rumoured to have visted the UK shores only once and was escorted around by none other than Mr Entertainment himself, Tommy Steele
  • As a youngster Elvis used black shoe polish to give his hair that movie star sheen.
  • Elvis made over 30 films during his career. Despite being slammed by most film critics, only one of his films ever lost money at the box office, Wild In The Country.
  • Strangely, although Elvis was a global phenomenon, he never performed outside North America. It is rumoured this is largley due to his manager, Col. Tom Parker's dubious immigration status.
  • The 1961 film, West Side Story very nearly starred Elvis Presley in the title role of Tony, opposite Natalie Wood. Unfortunately, Col. Tom Parker had other ideas and decided the role wouldn't be 'right' for Elvis.
